Program Description

The Tricontinental Master Program in Global Studies was established in 2015, which consists of 4 semesters in total. Students are required to study at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) in Karlsruhe, Germany for the first semester. The second semester begins at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) in Taichung, Taiwan. The third semester will then take place at University of Monterrey (UDEM) in Monterrey, Mexico. Students can choose where they want to spend the last semester while writing their thesis. The program provides an opportunity for students to experience different social, economic and cultural developments of the three countries. Starting from 2025 academic year, TRIM program will cooperate with University of Warsaw (UW) to start a new double-degree Master's program. (Students will study one year at NCHU, and one year at UW.)

Student Status, Tuition Fees, and Other Expenses


Students are required to pay their home university tuition, but are exempt from tuition of the two other host universities.*

Tuition: Approx. NTD $30,000 * 4 semesters = NTD $120,000**

Living: Approx. NTD $95,000 * 4 semesters = NTD $380,000***

Traveling: Approx. NTD $100,000 * 3 countries = NTD $300,000****

 

Total: Approx. NTD $800,000 

* There are still small administrative fees required at the host universities.

** Approx. USD $4,300. Will Vary due to exchange rate.

*** Approx. USD $13,600. Will Vary due to exchange rate.

**** Approx. USD $10,700. Will Vary due to exchange rate.

Course goals​

(1) Enhance mutual understanding between different countries and cultures;

(2) Provide high-quality talents required by the public and private sectors;

(3) Assist students in establishing a transnational social network;

(4) Cultivate students' ability to discover and solve problems needed to face a new future; and

(5) To enable students to have the competitiveness required by the global job market.

The students are expected to

  • have comprehensive knowledge in the areas of business studies, law, economics, and management;

  • broaden their global horizon on international and intercultural issues, and be open-minded towards different cultures;

  • be able to work in a team and practically-oriented;

  • have very good English-language proficiency, after the program.
